Reading While Knitting

Nothing complicated; nothing too exciting, but yes, I do knit while I read. As well as during many other domestic activities.

Just wondering. . .

I love getting comments on my blog (really, really, really love getting them). And sometimes, when I comment on someone else's blog, I'll get an email back. That's pretty special.

So when I get comments, I mean to email people back and say -- Thanks! But there's not always an email option to get back to them. Do you want me to say thanks in my comments? In the blog body? Never? So, if you want me to email thank-yous, please give me your email address.

I've decided on a pattern for a baby-to-be's present. Now I'll just finish up that sweater today (or, more accurately, finish up the yarn for the sweater -- I think sleeves are a future project) and launch right into that little gift.

Maybe.

I feel the same way! It feels odd to me to comment on my own post. And then there's the added variable of whether or not people will come back to check. Even emails feel odd to me.

I like going back to the other person's blog and seeing if there's something that I have to comment on. Yours is easy. You're a funny lady. :)

I started a conversation about this over on knitty, for the exact same reasonsib. The gist seemed to be, people like their comments to be acknowledged, but generally aren't picky how. I like to visit the blogs of people who've commented on mine (which is how I found your blog!), and to answer questions that come up in my next post.

I've been reading your bee saga with rapt attention! I love the fencing mask as beekeeping gear :)

I tend to reply within the comments for my own post. It just makes most sense to me to keep it all together as a logical 'conversation'.

I will often visit the person's blog (if they have one) and comment, including a thanks for commenting on mine. Oh yeah, thanks for your comments! How are the bees?

How ARE the bees? I'm so curious!

However you reply to a comment is fine. I don't particularly like commenting on my own blog; it makes me feel a bit ..well, snobby.
I have my email address on my website in case someone really wants to email me. I normally respond to a comment on the persons blog.

I love getting comments on my blog, too! and I love leaving them... However, I keep adding new "must-read" blogs daily, and I have to say that I rarely (if ever) go back and read the same entry multiple times (although I read your first bee one at least 3x with the kids....), so I don't see any replies left there. I guess I'd like either an email or, like A. said, a reply on MY blog, mentioning the answer...

I see the draw of having a whole conversation in one place, but I jsut dont' go back :(

I love comments too! Isn't it surprising when you see that People (when they're capital "p" people, they're busier and farther away) actually come to the blog? Not that it should be for you, just that it is for me..... Oh, fiddlesticks.

Anyway, I'm with the comments-on-their-blog-as-a-thank-you-for-comments-on-your-blog faction.

I have that problem too. Blogger really needs to make it easier! But then again I comment on many blogs and only hear back maybe 1/5 of the time so I don't feel too bad ...
