Reading While Knitting

Nothing complicated; nothing too exciting, but yes, I do knit while I read. As well as during many other domestic activities.

Basking in reflected competence

I had a fun morning today because I went to a breakfast hosted by one of the City Councilmembers where Eric works. I kept snickering to myself that it was "Take Your Spouse To Work Day," and kept telling myself that possibly no one there knew how to make paired increases and decreases, but there were many interesting people there.

I also enjoyed listening to the speaker, who was the reason I went. He'll have some impact on our family, I think.

And the nicest part of the whole thing, besides the hanging out together, was hearing Eric very publicly praised and lauded. I mean, I know he does good work, and I know there are people there who know it, but it was a pretty loud, big deal.

Hee.

'Cause, we only see him like this usually:

And in the morning, he just gives the sugar out:

Yay, Eric!

But OMG, I think the last pic I remember seeing him in (and certainly how I remember him( is that pic of you and he right after Thing 1 was born in the march babies album. You're turned sideways, showing off your skinny tummy.

wow... What a difference 13 years makes, huh? lol!

Awwwww, that's so cute. I love when my family gets props when I'm there, too :)

Very cool - great post! It's nice to be a cheerleader for our cheerleaders sometimes!

Yes, it's nice to be occasionally reminded that our hubbies are doing more than merely escaping the chaos of home when they go to work each day. This year I got to see my own Mr. get inaugurated as Businessperson of the Year in the town where he works, and it was a thrill to see so many people in one room praise him for what he does.

Now if only he could come to the lavish dinner when I'm inaugurated as Mom of the Year...
